The Point System is designed to allow fair access to all the cars throughout the year. Your membership level provides your annual points which you can use on whichever cars you choose over the course of the year.
Point assignments are based on four factors:
Tier of the vehicle: The cars are tiered from 1 to 6. The tier system reflects the popularity and value of the car. For example, a modern Ferrari will be in band 6 whereas a Triumph Spitfire will be in band 1.
The day of the week: Weekday bookings require 2 points and weekend bookings require 4. A day's points at the club approximates to 24 hours.
The month: The demand for driving our cars is greater in the summer and lower in the winter. For summer driving multiply the points by 4, multiply by 3 in the spring and fall and 2 in the winter.
Number of days: Number of weekday and/or weekend days the car is reserved.
Simply decide which car you would like to drive, and when you would like it and multiply the factors (car, month and number of weekdays/weekend days) together to work out the points applicable to your reservation.
For example, to book a Porsche Boxster for 1 weekday in September:
Band of car (2) x Season (3) x Day of Week (2) = 2 x 3 x 2 = 12 points
To drive a Dodge Viper for a weekend in February:
Band of car (4) x Season (2) x Day of Week (4) x 2 Days= 4 x 2 x 4 x 2 = 64 points
The points system is designed to encourage members to try out as many of the cars that they can and to reserve cars throughout the year. Use the Points Calculator on the right to determine the number of points to be used.
